The compact city crossover Mitsubishi ASX of the first generation in February 2021 was subjected to the next, third restyling and not casual, because this model has been rolling off the assembly line since 2021, and it had only two cosmetic facelifts ... Many fans of the Japanese crossover were waiting for a real breakthrough from the Japanese company Mitsubishi, namely a new generation, but instead received another restyled version, the official presentation of which took place in the spring of 2021 at the international motor show in Switzerland.
The appearance of the updated Mitsubishi ASX differs from the pre-styling version by 90%, in other words, the car received a seriously modernized design, both the front and rear parts of the body, and also acquired completely different optics. Only the doors, sills, glass, roof panels and rear fenders remained intact from the predecessor of the new Mitsubishi ASX. It was also decided not to change the power units for the Russian market, they remained the same and in the same composition (for reference: the model is equipped with aspirated gasoline engines of 1.6 and 2.0 liters).
It is not a grateful occupation to expect objective results of assessing its reliability from the newly emerging model. There can be no such statistics, because a certain time must pass. But Mitsubishi ASX is an exception to the rule. The car has been rolling off the assembly line for more than ten years, has been repeatedly changed and updated, and still remains the same, in a good sense of the word. Almost everything has changed: power units, gearboxes, suspension structures and the transmission device, but the key changes in the car have not happened.
Of course, this does not apply to the exterior, and the latest crossover update proves it.
At one time, this model was compared with a fighter, due to the design solutions for building the nose of the body, called the Jet Fighter. Later, the exterior of the car became less aggressive, the Dynamic Shield style appeared on the scene. The restyled Mitsubishi ASX is a new concept of the Japanese company, which was transferred to the entire Mitsubishi model range. Chrome appeared on the body, there are more right angles.

The interior of the basic Inform configuration is full of vintage, there are practically no changes compared to the previous generation. The central display of the old model, switches, keys are everywhere, materials of decoration are very modest. Therefore, a real surprise comes when you find yourself in a top-end cabin. The seats are finished in fabric and leather, a completely new multimedia center with a solid screen and a full set of advanced functions.
And all this works quickly and accurately. Although, the dashboard was not affected by the update.
One of the key changes in the Japanese interior is the presence of a completely new multimedia complex with a large 8-inch display (in the pre-styling version its size did not exceed 7 inches), which is why the manufacturer had to make a small modernization of the center console, which was slightly extended in height, and the air ducts of the ventilation system were moved a little higher. The front panel with the instrument cluster was also updated, while the steering wheel remained the same, the quality of finishing materials improved, the layout of the central tunnel and some other parts of the cabin changed.
